Hi, Im Jes- Your FAV HonkyTonker
If there's one thing I hope people feel when they walk through the doors of Northern HonkyTonk, it's this:
You belong here.
Northern HonkyTonk was never just about teaching line dancing.
It was born from a dream of creating a place where people could forget about the weight of everyday life, even if only for a little while. A place where country music fills the room, laughter comes easily, and strangers leave as friends.
Because life can be busy. It can be stressful. Sometimes it can feel overwhelming.
We all need somewhere that reminds us to smile.
For me, that place has always been the dance floor.
After experiencing the incredible country dance community in Nashville, I came home with a dream I couldn't ignore. I wanted to bring that same feeling to Northern Ontario—not just the dancing, but the sense of belonging. The kind of place where everyone feels welcome, whether they've been dancing for years or they're taking their very first steps.
So I took a leap of faith and created Northern HonkyTonk.
What started as an idea has grown into something far bigger than I ever imagined. Every week I have the privilege of watching people walk through the doors feeling nervous, unsure, or simply looking for something different. By the end of the night, they're laughing, cheering each other on, and leaving with new friends and memories they'll carry long after the music stops.
Those moments remind me why I started.
Northern HonkyTonk isn't built on perfect dance steps.
It's built on kindness.
Encouragement.
Connection.
Community.
Around here, no one expects you to know every move. We celebrate showing up, trying something new, and having the courage to take that first step. Whether you come with friends, bring your family, or walk in on your own, you'll always be greeted with a smile and a community that's genuinely happy you're here.
Watching this family grow has become one of the greatest joys of my life.
Every hug at the end of class.
Every new friendship.
Every burst of laughter.
Every person who tells me they finally found a place where they feel like they belong.
Those are the moments that mean everything to me.
My hope is that Northern HonkyTonk becomes more than somewhere you come to dance.
I hope it becomes the place you look forward to all week.
A place where you can breathe a little easier.
Laugh a little louder.
Meet incredible people.
And leave feeling just a little lighter than when you arrived.
Thank you for being here, for believing in this dream, and for helping build something so much bigger than I could have ever imagined.
I can't wait to welcome you onto the dance floor.
See you soon,
Your FAV HonkyTonker- Jes
